2010 Tournament Groundrules

For all 5 regular tournaments the $15.00 entry fee includes lunch at the H Smith Richardson clubhouse after the round.  The entry fee is payable at the Pro Shop no later than 8 days before the tournament. Players opting to not have lunch have a $5.00 entry fee. Entry fees are not refundable. In case of rainout tournaments will be rescheduled. On a “Cart Paths Only” day, players who paid for lunch but who are opting to not play are entitled to breakfast at the HSR clubhouse.

The 50/50 raffle now has 2 players splitting the 50% winnings. In addition to 1st/2nd/3rd place prizes (dollar level determined by the number of tournament players) we’ll have a longest drive in the fairway prize ($25.00) on a specific hole as well as a closest to the flag prize ($25.00) on a specific par 3 hole. Longest drive and closest to the flag will be announced after all players have completed round. All players use the white tees. All prizes other than 50/50 are credits at the Pro Shop.

 

2 Man Scramble        May 12, 2010  RESCHEDULED TO JUNE 30,2010

2 player teams are selected by computer, pairing high and low handicaps of players signing up. Team members play together. The drive of the higher handicap player must be used on at least 4 holes. Each player hits from the best ball position selected by the team after each shot until one team member sinks a putt and closes out the hole. The score for the hole is the team score. No handicaps are used other than when forming teams. 

 

Blind Partners        June 16, 2010

Best Ball of 2 net for each hole. Maximum strokes per hole-double par (pick up & move on). Players should sign up for tee times in usual manner.  Partners are selected by random draw after all foursomes have teed off.  Handicaps are used to determine net score for the 2 player team for each hole.  Players must sink putts, no gimmies.

ABCD  Scramble      August 18,2010

4 Player teams are selected based on handicaps of players signing up. Drives are used based on minimum as follows: 2 for “D” player, 3 for “C” player, 4 for “B” player. Each player hits from the best ball position selected by the team after each shot until one team member sinks a putt and closes out the hole. The score for the hole is the team score. No handicaps are used other than when forming teams.

 

 

Bob Holmes Tournament    September 8, 2010

Medal play, net score. Players should sign up for tee times in the usual manner. Results are tabulated as players complete round. Players must sink putts, no gimmies. 

 

 

Club Championship

In addition to the above, there will also be a Seniors Club Championship. The number of players signing up determine tournament format. All matches are single elimination net (difference in handicaps used to determine strokes for each hole for the higher handicap player).  Match winners move on to the next bracket. Matches are set up by players but matches must be played within specified dates. If there’s a problem with arranging a match, the committee will make decisions for the match players.
